Weekly Wrap #4: 12/21 – 12/27

We hope this post finds you well as 2015 comes to a close. We our enjoying our last few days of the year in our home state of Michigan  with our families and enjoying the quality time the kids get to spend with family they don’t see often.

We’re linking up with Tricia and Holly for the Weekly Wrap. Here’s a recap of our week: WeeklyWrap

As is normal with vacation we haven’t been working out as much as we’d like. Here is the recap of our week:

Monday: No workout.

Tuesday : My last night of work before a 20-hour car ride brought a 5.50 mile workout at an 8:00 min/mile pace. I’m excited to be switching to day shift when we get back to New York with hopefully more daytime runs in my future.

Wednesday: We left for Michigan at 9 a.m. and didn’t arrive until 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. No Workout!!

Thursday: No workout.

Friday: No workout.

Saturday: 3.9 miles @ 7:42 pace.

Sunday: Visit to the doctors.

Weekly total: 9.4 miles

Jen: I definitely have not gotten in nearly as many workouts as I wanted to this week. Life caught up once again and the beginning part of my week got away from me with vacation prep and the 2nd half of the week has been packed with holiday functions. We’re still in Michigan for the next week and will have more time so the plan is to pick back up with my workouts. My training for Syracuse starts shortly after we return to New York so I’d like to hit 5 miles a few times this week in preparation for the mileage pick up.

Monday: No workout.

Tuesday : No workout.

Wednesday: No workout.

Thursday: No workout.

Friday: No workout.

Saturday: 21 Day Fix- Dirty 30 and 2.5 miles

Sunday: No workout.

Christmas was great this year. Parker is at the perfect age where he has been really into everything. On Christmas morning he enjoyed being in charge of who’s turn it was to open gifts. Since then he’s been working his way through the stack of toys that Santa brought! Their birthdays are later this week so we’re planning a small party with our families that don’t often get to see them for the occasion so that will be fun! We’ve got some pictures that we will share later this week.

  1. The holiday schedule is not very workout friendly is it? I’m not sure any of us got in the workouts we wanted, but most I have ready enjoyed the break! I think it gives us a time to recharge and restart. Thanks for linking up with us and hope to see you in 2016!

  2. I believe we all struggled this week. Anything you did (or didn’t) do should be commended. The best part is spending time with family. When kids are that perfect Santa age, it is just so much fun. I hope Travis is not sick (visit to doc?). Enjoy your time remaining in Michigan. Thanks for linking with us Jen and Happy New Year!

    1. Parkers age is SO much fun for Christmas. It’s really awesome to see them so excited about something! Travis went again because of the cough and Peyton went in for the same reason. We just can’t seem to shake the sickness! Happy New Year!

  3. I don’t think I would feel much like running after a 20 hour car ride. Wow! I think we all struggle with staying in a routine during the holidays. I look forward to seeing more pictures of Parker’s Christmas. Have a Happy New Year!
